A Survey of Public Service Motivation: An Empirical Study Based on the Party and Government Cadres of a Central City

Motivation is the foundation of the origin, direction, and continuity of the behavior and directly determines the design of the system, thereby determining the path and direction of reform and development. The study of Public Service Motivation (PSM) is a new field of political science research, and it is also a new motivation research response based on policies and institutions. Since the American scholar Perry & Wise first systematically studied PSM in the paper "Motivation Basis of Public Services" (1990), the number of scholars studying PSM at home and abroad has increased year by year, and research results have been continuously updated. So far, PSM has become the intersection of political science and public management research.
